Cysts are non-cancerous lumps that appear in any part of the body, both internally and externally. Like the skin tag and lesion, cysts have a capsule like structure filled with semisolid material, gaseous material and liquid.

To avoid feel of pain during the process, general anesthesia is given to the patient to block pain and keep her asleep throughout the surgery. While local anesthesia is given to numb as an injection or may be with a sedative to the operated area.

Laparoscopy Procedure

Just below the navel, a small incision is made and then a laparoscope is inserted which has a thin tube with a camera at an end. For the better view of the organs carbon dioxide is pumped into the abdomen and the laparoscope device is used to locate the cyst. When the physician finds it, one or two incisions are made and then the surgical instruments are inserted to remove the cysts. The tissues are removed and incase cancer is found both ovaries are removed.

Although, it is the best procedure, but most of the time the physicians advise for open surgery.
